Many of our Patrons were forced into residential schools. Residential schools were made to make First Nation peoples forget about their culture and to embrace in the dominate culture that was forced upon them. Many were taken from their families, foster or adopted into white families and forced into residential schools at a young age They suffered (mental, physical, sexual and emotional abuse).Truth and Reconcialtion was created in 2008 but what not put into action until 2012
